The 22nd China Conference on Machine Translation and Multilingual Technology (CCMT 2026) Call for Papers

The 22nd China Conference on Machine Translation and Multilingual Technology (CCMT 2026) will be held from November 13 (Friday) to November 15 (Sunday), 2026, in Kunming, Yunnan, China. The conference is organized by the Chinese Information Processing Society of China (CIPS) and hosted by Kunming University of Science and Technology. CCMT aims to provide an interactive platform for colleagues in the machine translation and multilingual information processing community, both domestic and international, bringing together experts and scholars to conduct in-depth discussions on key issues such as machine translation and multilingual information processing theories and methods, application technologies, and evaluation activities, thereby actively promoting the development of machine translation and multilingual information processing in China.

The conference has been successfully held for 21 consecutive sessions (the first 14 sessions were named the China Workshop on Machine Translation, CWMT, and the 15th to 20th sessions were named the China Conference on Machine Translation, CCMT). Over the years, CCMT has organized 14 machine translation evaluations, one open-source system module development event (2006), and two strategic seminars (2010, 2012). These activities have had a positive and profound impact on promoting the research and development of machine translation and multilingual technologies in China. As a result, CCMT has become a highly influential academic event in the field of natural language processing in China.

  • Evaluation, Trustworthiness, Security, and Interpretability of Machine Translation and Multilingual Information Processing
  • Innovative Applications of Machine Translation and Multilingual Information Processing
  • Standards for Multilingual Information Processing
  • Domain-specific and Style-specific (patents, literature, academic texts, etc.) Translation and Multilingual Information Processing
  • Discourse-level Machine Translation

The conference continues to solicit original academic papers from both domestic and international researchers. The conference will feature Highlight Papers, which will be selected and awarded certificates during the conference.

In addition, CCMT 2026 supports parallel submission. Subject to the policies of other conferences or journals, CCMT 2026 will consider papers that have been submitted for review elsewhere, and papers submitted to CCMT 2026 may be submitted elsewhere during the CCMT review period. CCMT 2026 will not consider any paper that has substantial overlap in content or results with papers to be published (or already published) in other conferences or journals. Authors submitting more than one paper to CCMT 2026 must ensure that the overlap rate between submissions does not exceed 25%.

CCMT 2026 accepts two types of submissions: long papers (up to 12 pages) and short papers (up to 6 pages). Submissions in both Chinese and English are accepted. English manuscripts should follow the ACL Rolling Review (ARR) format (see https://aclrollingreview.org/authors). Chinese manuscripts should follow the formatting guidelines of the Journal of Xiamen University (Natural Science Edition). The review process is double-blind; please do not include author names, affiliations, or other identifying information in the manuscript. Self-citations should not use "We propose..." but rather forms such as "[Author Name] proposes...".

Accepted English papers will be recommended based on quality to Machine Intelligence Research (MIR) (SCI-indexed), Journal of Computer Science and Technology (JCST) (SCI-indexed), or Large Language Model for publication after review. All accepted Chinese papers will be recommended based on quality and author preference to Journal of Software (软件学报), Journal of Chinese Information Processing (中文信息学报), Journal of Xiamen University (Natural Science Edition) (厦门大学学报（自然科学版）), Journal of Kunming University of Science and Technology (Natural Science Edition) (昆明理工大学学报), Journal of Applied Sciences (应用科学学报), or Artificial Intelligence Standardization (人工智能标准化) for publication after review.
